When you install BLS-2026 for the first time, the installer checks if BLS-2025 is on your computer. If it is, you’ll see a prompt at the end of installation asking if you want to copy your BLS-2025 leagues and settings into BLS-2026.
If your leagues from older versions didn’t copy over, here are some common reasons and fixes:
1. League isn’t current
If your league has ended, it won’t appear under File > Open League for Current Season.
To check, go to File > Open Other > Open Any League and see if it’s listed there. Also, be sure you’re looking in the default directory.
2. League hasn’t been opened in BLS-2026 yet
Leagues don’t appear in the recent list until you open them in the new program. Once opened, they’ll show up in your recent list.
3. League is stored in a different location
If your league was saved somewhere other than the usual location, you’ll need to bring it in manually:
Fix Options:
Option 1: Use the Copy League Wizard
Go to Maintenance > Copy > Copy League Wizard and follow the steps to bring your league into BLS-2026.
Option 2: Manually copy the leagues (BLS-2020 or newer)
Go to C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\BLS[your previous version] and find the Leagues folder.
Copy that folder.
Go to C:\ProgramData\CDE Software\BLS2026 and paste it there, replacing the existing Leagues folder.
For example, to copy from BLS-2025, go to C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\BLS2025, right-click the Leagues folder, select COPY, then go to C:\ProgramData\CDE Software\BLS2026 and PASTE it there.
Option 3: Use Backup/Restore League
In your old BLS version (BLS-2019 or newer), back up each league to your desktop or USB drive.
In BLS-2026, use the Restore League feature to bring them in.
Note: If none of these work, your league files might not be in the expected location. To find where they are:
Open the league in your old program.
Click the Support tab.
Look for "LOCATION: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" to see where the files are stored.
Then, point the Copy League Wizard in BLS-2026 to that folder.
