MBD Server Is Not Running – How to Fix It

If you see an error message like:
"MBD Error EDB-1100. Check that the server is running and that this program is correctly pointing to the IP and port...",
it usually means the MBD Server has stopped running or didn’t start up right.

Here’s how to fix it:

Option 1: Reboot the Computer
The simplest fix is to just restart the computer where the MBD Server is installed. This often gets things working again.

Option 2: Manually Start the MBD Server

  1. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.

  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.

  3. In the list that appears, look for CDE Software MBD Server.

  4. Make sure the Startup Type is set to Automatic.

  5. Check the Status column. If it doesn’t say Running, right-click it and choose Start.

  6. Next, find CDE Software MBD Background Service in the same list and do the same — make sure it's set to Automatic and running.

Also, make sure your computer’s firewall isn’t blocking the program. The MBD Server needs to be able to send and receive information through the port it uses.

Once these steps are done, the MBD should be working again.
