Types of Weeks for Lane Assignments in BLS-2025

When setting up lane assignments, you can change the type of week for each session to match different league needs. Here's a guide to the different types of weeks available and what each one represents:

How to Change the Type of Week

  1. Open BLS-2025 and go to the league in question.
  2. Go to Setup > League > Lane Assignments.
  3. Click on the current week type (e.g., "Normal").
  4. A drop-down arrow will appear—click the arrow and select the appropriate type of week from the list below.

Types of Weeks Explained

  1. Normal:
    • Regular scheduled pairings for the league (can be sanctioned by USBC, TNBA, CTF, or unsanctioned).
  2. Position Round:
    • Teams bowl against each other based on their current Win/Loss standings.
  3. Position Round within Each Division (PR within each division):
    • Similar to a Position Round, but teams bowl only against other teams in their own division.
  4. Division Playoff (1-2, 3-4):
    • Teams play each other based on standings within their divisions, with 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 4th, etc.
  5. Division Playoff (1-3, 2-4):
    • Teams play each other based on standings within their divisions, with 1st vs 3rd, 2nd vs 4th, etc.
  6. Division Playoff (1-4, 2-3):
    • Teams play each other based on standings within their divisions, with 1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd, etc.
  7. Combined Divisions (1+2, 3+4):
    • Teams from different divisions are combined, and then matched based on combined standings.
  8. Position Round: 1st Place Lockout:
    • If the 1st place team cannot be overtaken, they play against the first team that also cannot improve their standings.
  9. USBC Roll-off Scores Count:
    • A roll-off between split-season winners, with scores counting towards averages and awards.
  10. Roll-off Scores Don’t Count:
    • A roll-off between split-season winners, but scores do not count towards averages or awards.
  11. Fun Night:
    • A week where nothing counts, typically used for a relaxed end-of-season event. Bowlers are still eligible for awards if the games are bowled in a standard format.
  12. Skip & Move Back 1 Week:
    • Skip this week, and add a week to the end of the schedule to make up for it.
  13. Skip: Not Bowled, No Makeup:
    • Skip this week with no makeup; it is still included in the original number of weeks.
  14. Bowling for Average Only:
    • No points are awarded for this week. Individual statistics do count towards averages but not towards special recognition for the season.

Summary

These different types of weeks allow you to customize your league schedule based on your league’s needs, whether it's a position round, playoff, fun night, or an adjustment for a cancellation.
