How to Assign Multiple Teams on a Lane in BLS-2025

If you need to assign multiple teams to the same lane—common in singles or doubles leagues with fewer lanes than teams—you can adjust the settings to accommodate this need. Here’s how to do it:

Steps to Change the Number of Teams Per Lane

  1. Open BLS-2025 and Open the League.
  2. Go to Setup > League > Lane Assignments.
  3. Select the Weeks/Shifts tab.
  4. Change the Number of Teams per Lane:
    • Change the number from the default of 1 to the desired number (e.g., 2 teams per lane).

How It Works

  • When assigning multiple teams per lane, BLS-2025 follows the USBC schedule and wraps around the schedule to ensure that the number of teams is as balanced as possible.
  • For example, in a 12-team doubles leaguethat needs to double up:
    • If the league would normally start on lane 1, and you set 2 teams per lane, then teams that would usually be on lanes 7-12 will be wrapped around to lanes 1-6.
    • The same matchups still occur, but more teams are on each lane.

Notes

  1. Automatic Scoring System:
    • Some Automatic Scoring systems may not support multiple teams per lane. You may need to check compatibility with your scoring system.
  2. More Teams than BLS Lane Assignments:
    • If you have more teamsthan what is available from the USBC lane assignment schedule:
      • You may need to either manually enter a lane assignment schedule or use the random lane assignment function.
This setup allows for flexibility in dealing with limited lanes, making sure you can accommodate all teams while maintaining the matchups effectively.
