How to Allow Teams Playing Against a BYE Team to Have the Night Off in BLS-2025

If your league wants to allow the team that is scheduled to play against a BYE team to take the night off, follow these steps:

Setting Up the Schedule

  1. Open the League in BLS-2025.
  2. Go to Setup > League > Lane Assignments.
  3. Click the BYEbutton at the top.
    • Select the option for the team playing the BYE team to be moved to the end pair.
  4. Set Shifts:
    • Indicate that the league will bowl in 2 shifts.
    • The first shift should include all lanes except the last 2.
    • The second shift should include just 2 teams.

Adjust BYE Team Rules

  1. Close Lane Assignments and go to Setup > League > Rules > BYE Teams.
  2. Change the rule to say Teams bowling against a BYE team should not be awarded wins or losses.

Adjust Team Points Rules

  1. Go to the Team Points rules.
  2. Set YES for the rule that states Standings are determined by percentage of Wins to Losses.

For AutoScoring Edition Users

  • If you are using the AutoScoring edition, focus only on the first squad when exporting to the scoring system.
  • You can ignore the second squad since they are not required to bowl.
By setting up the rules and lane assignments this way, you can ensure that the team scheduled against a BYE team can take the night off while the standings and points remain fair and accurate.
