How to Set Up Social Distancing with Splitting a Team Across Two Lanes in BLS-2025

In the 1 Team Split Across Pair social distancing setup, each team is split across two lanes, with a maximum of 2 people per lane. This configuration ensures that the team members bowl together while maintaining a safer distance.

Configuration Instructions

  1. Open BLS-2025 and Open the League.
  2. From the main menu, go to Setup > League > Lane Assignments.
  3. On the right side of the Lane Assignments grid, click the Social Distancing tab.
  4. Select "1 Team Split Across Pair":
    • This will split each team across a pair of lanes, keeping 2 bowlers on one lane and the remaining bowlers on the adjacent lane.
    • For example:
      • Team 1: 2 people on lane 1, and the rest on lane 2.
      • Team 2: 2 people on lane 3, and the rest on lane 4, etc.
  5. Add Lanes or Add Shifts:
    • Choose Add Lanes to spread the league across all available lanes.
    • If the center cannot accommodate all teams due to the limited number of lanes, set the Add Shifts option to split the league into multiple shifts.
  6. Close the Lane Assignments to save your configuration.

Advantages and Disadvantages

  • Advantage: Teams can still bowl in traditional alternating lanes while maintaining social distance.
  • Disadvantage: If the center is small, the league might need to be split into multiple shifts to accommodate the reduced number of bowlers per lane.

Effect on Lane Assignments and Scoring

  • The lane assignment screen will display normal lane numbers, and the automatic scoring export and recaps will reflect the correct pairings.
  • This setup ensures that the team remains split safely across two lanes, meeting social distancing guidelines while still participating as a unit.
This configuration will allow your league to maintain a safer bowling environment while keeping the traditional competition structure intact.
