How to Permanently Assign Teams to Shifts for Social Distancing in BLS-2025

To assign teams permanently to shifts so that each team only competes against teams in its own shift, you can use divisions to create this setup. Here's how:
  1. Open the League in BLS-2025.
  2. Go to Setup > League > Rules.
  3. Enable Team Divisions:
    • In the Who We Are tab, scroll down and select YES to League has Team Divisions.
  4. Configure Divisions:
    • Go to the Divisions > Team Divisions tab.
    • If you need two shifts, select 2 divisions.
    • Select NO for separating standings into divisions.
    • Also, select NO for separating weekly and season highs into divisions.
    • Set Who assigns teams to divisions to BLS Does It.
    • Select YES to teams only bowl teams in their division.
    • Set the number of teams in each divisionbased on how the teams are split into shifts.
      • For example, in a 12-team league where 6 teams bowl in each shift, set 6 teams in each division.
  5. Close the Rules to save changes.
  6. Assign Teams to Shifts:
    • Teams 1-6 will automatically be in shift 1, and teams 7-12 will be in shift 2 (based on the example above).
    • If you need to adjust team order, use Utilities > Reorder Teams.
  7. Set Lane Assignments for Shifts:
    • Go to Setup > League > Lane Assignments.
    • Change the number of shifts to 2.
    • Set the number of teams for each shift accordingly (e.g., 6 teams in each shift for a 12-team league).
With this setup, teams will only compete against other teams within their designated shift, and their pairings will be limited accordingly. This provides a solution for maintaining social distancing while ensuring that teams remain permanently assigned to their shift.
