Handling Extended Pairs with 3 Shifts in BLS-2025

When using the Extended Pair option with Add Shifts, BLS-2025 will keep the opposing teams on the same shift. This requires using 4 lanes (2 pairs) for each match. If the number of teams isn't divisible by 4, one match will be left over and assigned to a third shift.
Here’s how to avoid a third shift if your league can use an extra lane:
  1. Set Up Shifts Before Adding Social Distancing:
    • Before enabling the Social Distancing option, go to the Lane Assignment screen.
    • Set up a second shift with an appropriate time.
    • Ensure that one shift has 2 more teams than the other (you decide which shift has more teams).
  2. Enable Social Distancing with Extended Pair and Add Lanes:
    • Turn on Social Distancing and select Extended Pair with the Add Lanes option.
  3. Example for a 10-Team League (with 6 Teams in First Shift and 4 in Second Shift):
    • First Shift:
      • Team 1 on Lanes 1 & 2
      • Team 2 on Lanes 3 & 4
      • Team 3 on Lanes 5 & 6
      • Team 4 on Lanes 7 & 8
      • Team 5 on Lanes 9 & 10
      • Team 6 on Lanes 11 & 12
    • Second Shift:
      • Team 7 on Lanes 1 & 2
      • Team 8 on Lanes 3 & 4
      • Team 9 on Lanes 5 & 6
      • Team 10 on Lanes 7 & 8
By following these steps, you can arrange the matches to fit without creating a third shift, provided that you can use an extra lane.
