How to Fix an Incomplete First Series

If a bowler establishing their average cannot complete their first series (due to being late, illness, or an emergency), it may cause confusion with the average, as well as changes in individual and team handicaps during the series. Here’s how to handle this situation:
  1. Ignore the Incorrect Average Initially:
    • The bowler's average will appear incorrect for the first week due to the incomplete series. It’s best to ignore it for now.
  2. Inform the Teams:
    • Let the teams involved know that results might change once the bowler completes their series to establish an accurate average.
  3. Manually Calculate the Average:
    • Once the bowler completes the missing game(s) for the series, manually calculate their average.
  4. Apply the Average to Current and Incomplete Weeks:
    • Use the calculated average for both the incomplete week and the current week where the bowler is now.
  5. Update the Incomplete Week:
    • Go back to the incomplete week for the bowler. Use the override screen to manually enter and force the correct average for the bowler’s scores.
  6. Update the Current Week:
    • Go to the current week and override the bowler’s average there if necessary.
By following these steps, you can ensure the bowler’s average and the team’s handicaps are correctly adjusted, even if they missed completing their first series.
