How to Back Up Your League

It's very important to back up your league to something like a USB memory stick. This is because things like hard drive crashes, accidental deletions, or computer viruses can ruin all your hard work for the season.
Besides your league, it's also good to back up a few other things:
  • System Files (for any special settings or templates you've created)
  • Local Awards Files (if you've set up special awards for your league)
  • Common Addresses (like the bowling center, bank, or association)
You can find all these options in the program under the Opening Screen > Main Menu > Maintenance.
Note: We don't recommend backing up directly to a CD or DVD, as it often doesn't work well.
Tips for Backups:
  • You can keep all your weekly backups on the same USB drive.
  • If you manage several leagues, it’s best to create a separate folder for each one.
  • It’s also helpful to save "milestone" backups on different media (e.g., Week 1, mid-season, end of season).
If you upload your league to LeagueSecretary.com, the site will keep the last 2-3 weeks of backups, and you can download them anytime you need.
Steps to Back Up Your League:
  1. Insert your USB or other removable media.
  2. On the opening screen of the program, click Maintenance. (If your league is already open, click Utilities > Backup This League.)
  3. Click Backup Leagues.
  4. Select the league you want to back up and click BACKUP. (Skip this step if the league is already open.)
  5. Click CONTINUE and choose where to save the backup.
  6. In the "SAVE IN" list, pick the location to save the backup, then click SAVE.
  7. Once the backup is done, you can remove your USB or other media.
To Back Up System Files, Local Awards Files, and Common Addresses: These can be backed up the same way, but you only need to do it when you make changes in those areas.
That’s it—backing up is easy and keeps your data safe!
