How to move leagues to different computer

If you need to move your software and league data to a new computer, here’s an easy guide to help you through the process.

Common Reasons You Might Need This:

  • You got a new computer and need to transfer everything over.
  • Your old computer crashed and has been repaired or restored.
  • You just want to move the software to a different computer.

Step 1: Back Up Your Data (On the Old Computer)

If your old computer is still working, follow these steps to back up your data onto a portable flash drive:
  1. Start the program on your old computer.
  2. Backup your leagues:
    • Go to Maintenance > Backup League and back up each league one by one to the flash drive.
    • If a league is already open, go to File > Close League first to access the Maintenance menu.
  3. Backup system files:
    • Go to Maintenance > Backup System Files and save these to the flash drive.
  4. Backup local awards:
    • Go to Maintenance > Backup Local Awards and save these files to the flash drive.
If your old computer isn’t working, try to find your most recent backup files. If you can’t locate any backups, you’ll need to re-enter your data manually on the new computer.

Step 2: Restore Your Data (On the New Computer)

Once you have everything ready to go on the new computer:
  1. Install the software:
    • Use the original CD, USB drive, or download the installer from the CDE Software website.
  2. Register the software:
    • Enter your product registration details from CDE Software.
  3. Restore your leagues:
    • Go to Maintenance > Restore League and restore each league one by one from the flash drive.
  4. Restore system files:
    • Go to Maintenance > Restore System Files and restore from the flash drive.
  5. Restore local awards:
    • Go to Maintenance > Restore Local Awards and restore from the flash drive.
And that’s it! Your software and league data should now be moved over to your new computer. If you run into any issues, don’t hesitate to reach out for help!
