Using AT&T's version of Yahoo Email for Email sending

AT&T Email Setup for Sending Outgoing Mail

Email Settings:
  • SMTP Server: outbound.att.net
  • Username: Your full AT&T email address
  • Password: Your AT&T email password (or a secure mail key, see below)
  • Use Advanced Settings to set SMTP Server Port: Yes
  • SMTP Server Port: 465
  • Email Server requires SSL and/or TLS Mode: Yes
  • SSL/TLS Start Mode: Automatic
Important Notes:
  • Account Security: Your AT&T/Yahoo account may need to allow apps that use less secure sign-ins. If this feature is disabled, you may receive incorrect username/password errors in BLS.
  • Secure Mail Key: AT&T may require you to use a secure mail key instead of your regular password.

How to Create a Secure Mail Key

  1. Sign In:
    • Go to myAT&T and sign in with your User ID and password.
  2. Access Profile Settings:
    • Navigate to Profile > Sign-in info.
  3. Select Email Account:
    • Choose the email account you want to create a secure mail key for. (Use the drop-down menu if you have multiple accounts.)
  4. Manage Secure Mail Key:
    • Scroll to Secure mail key and select Manage secure mail key.
    • If you have more than one email address, select the one you want to use.
    • Click Add secure mail key.
  5. Create and Name Your Key:
    • Enter a nickname like "CDE" to easily recognize the secure mail key.
    • Click Create secure mail key.
  6. Copy and Save the Key:
    • Select Copy secure mail key to clipboard and jot it down somewhere safe.
    • Click OK to finish.
  7. Update BLS Settings:
    • Replace the password in your BLS email settings with the secure mail key you just created.
