Handling Forfeits vs. BYEs - Individual Points

A vacant bowler represents a position on the team that does not have a physical player.

Individual Points for Vacant vs. Vacant Matches

When it comes to individual match play points where both positions are vacant, BLS offers several options depending on your league rules:
  • No points awarded: Points are considered unearned.
  • Points go only to the team winning the game.
  • Points go only to the absent player’s team.
  • Vacant/Absent players may win and lose points as if they were present.
This rule should be set according to your league’s bylaws or rules.

How to Set This Rule:

  1. Navigate to the Rule Setting:
    • Go to the Main Menu > Setup > Rules > Vacant Players.
  2. Set Individual Match Points for Vacants:
    • Choose the appropriate option for how points should be awarded.
For more details on handling vacant players, you can access additional help by going to Help > Program Help > Search and typing in "Vacants," or by referring to Help > Program Manual
This will ensure that your league handles vacant positions according to your specific rules.
