Setting Up Awards in BLS-2025

BLS-2025 lets you create and manage awards for your bowling league. You can organize awards into different groups:

  • Bowling Center Awards

  • Local Association Awards

  • State Association Awards

  • Other Awards (for leagues not part of USBC or CTF)

Viewing and Managing Awards

To see or change awards:

  1. Click on the tab for the award group you want (like "Bowling Center Awards").

  2. You'll see a list of awards in that group.

  3. Click on an award to see its details.

  4. To rename a group, click its tab and type the new name.

Note for "Other Awards"

Use the "Other Awards" tab if your league is with a group other than USBC or CTF. Make sure to set this up under Setup > League > Rules > What Is This League > Will be sanctioned in.

Adding a New Award

  1. Choose the award group tab where you want the new award.

  2. Click "Add Award." A new award named "Undefined Award" will appear.

  3. Enter the award's name and set its details:

    • Association Required: Pick the group (like USBC).

    • Award Applies To: Choose who can earn it (e.g., male, female, all).

    • Type of Award: Select the kind of award.

    • Frequency: Decide how often someone can earn it.

  4. Set the rules for earning the award based on its type.

Types of Awards

  • Miscellaneous Award: For things like clean games or splits.

  • Game or Series Award: Based on scores. You can set it for exact scores, score ranges, or scores over average.

  • Triplicate or Stepladder Award: For getting the same score in multiple games or increasing/decreasing scores in a pattern.

  • Progressive Award: For scores within certain average ranges (like a 600 series for bowlers with an average of 150 or less). Note: To use age restrictions, make sure each bowler's birthday is entered.

Changing or Removing Awards

  • To change an award, click on it and update its details.

  • To remove an award, click on it and then click "Remove Award."

By following these steps, you can easily set up and manage awards in BLS-2025 to fit your league's needs.

Important Note:
When modifying awards after week 1, be sure to go back to week 1 so the awards can be redetected under the new changes.
