Should I Upgrade My Scoring System's Windows Before Installing Your Software?

You might be wondering if you need to upgrade the operating system or computers throughout your center before installing our software. The good news is that you typically only need to focus on the computer where the CDE product (or any other third-party software) will be installed.
Here’s what you should do:
  1. Check with Your Scoring System Manufacturer:
    • We strongly recommend reaching out to your scoring system manufacturer to understand what’s necessary and if there are any compatibility issues with your current setup.
  2. If You Can't Upgrade:
    • If upgrading your scoring equipment isn't an option, consider purchasing a new computer from your scoring system manufacturer or a reputable vendor. You can then add this computer to your network. Be sure to check with your scoring system manufacturer regarding the correct settings and security requirements.
  3. Network Configuration:
    • As long as the network settings and security are properly configured, you should be able to use the A/S edition of our products without any issues.
Important Notes:
  • It’s crucial to verify your plans with your scoring system manufacturer to ensure compatibility and avoid any potential warranty issues.
  • Also, make sure you’re aware of any security or configuration needs specific to your scoring system.
  • While CDE can guide you in setting up our A/S products, we can’t assist with configuring Windows, networks, network security, or your scoring system’s configuration as it’s outside the scope of our support.
By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth installation and operation of our software.
