Sum of Individual Handicap Basis

When calculating handicap for a multi-player event, the handicaps from each player is combined to create a team handicap.

Take a good look at the below examples. Notice that since fractions are always dropped in bowling, there can become a difference in the total handicap for the series depending on the method chosen.

Individual Basis using Handicap per Series:

Note: 90% of 230 is the individual handicap rule which translates to 90% of 690 for series.

 

Bowler 1 [133] * 3 = 399

HDCP - 690-399 = 291 * .90 (90%) = 261.9. Drop fraction, HDCP = 261
Bowler 2 [159] * 3 = 477

HDCP - 690-477 = 213 * .90 (90%) = 191.7.  Drop fraction, HDCP = 191
Bowler 3 [145] * 3 = 435

HDCP - 690-435 = 255 * .90 (90%) = 229.5.  Drop fraction, HDCP = 229
Bowler 4 [153] * 3 = 459

HDCP - 690-459 = 231 * .90 (90%) = 207.9.  Drop fraction, HDCP = 207
Bowler 5 [194] * 3 = 582

HDCP - 690-582 = 108 * .90 (90%) = 97.2.  Drop fraction, HDCP = 97

 

Sum of bowler handicaps for the series is 261+191+229+207+97 = 985

The display will show ZERO for the game handicap for the team because Series Handicap is used.

Series handicap would be 327 * 3 = 981
