Richard, I'm trying to understand what you are seeking. You mention that points should be split, but the absentee is getting zero points, when the team bowls against a bye (vacant) team?

 

I am trusting that you are a match point league.

 

Generally, an absentee bowler doesn't earn points when not bowling. In my men's handicap match point league, when a team has an absent bowler, the absent bowler gets zero wins and zero losses (in effect, no change at all for that bowler's win/loss percentage for the season).

 

Are you trying to get the absentee bowler to earn one-half of the points available? I don't believe that you can set up BLS to do that. If you must, there is an override screen (which is accessed from the scores entry screen, a button at the top that reads "Overrides"). To manually modify points, you would need to click on the bowler name from the roster on the left side of the Override screen, and then manually change the points in the far right of that window when that bowler's name is highlighted.
