How to Fix the "System Error Code 1722 the RPC Server Is Unavailable" Error

If you receive an error "System Error Code 1722 the RPC Server Is Unavailable" when opening/printing a report, it is usually caused by the Windows print spooler service being disabled or not working properly. You won't be able to print documents in CDE Software or any other Windows program if you encounter this error. You can fix this error by re-enabling the print spooler service in the Windows services administration dialog
  1. Close all running programs and restart your computer by clicking "Start," hovering the mouse cursor over the arrow to the right of "Shut Down" and clicking "Restart." Restarting your computer may solve the problem. If not, proceed to Step 2.
  2. Close all running programs on your computer, including Intuit QuickBooks and Point of Sale.
  3. Hold the WINDOWS key down on the keyboard while pressing the R key.
  4. Type Services.msc into the Run dialog and press "Enter."
  5. Click "OK" and "Continue" in the user account control dialog.
  6. Scroll down in the list of services, right-click "Print Spooler" and click "Properties."
  7. Click the "Startup Type" box and click "Automatic."
  8. Click the "Start" button under "Service Status."
  9. Click "OK."
  10. Close the services window.
