Cannot get Last Week's Top Scores to show on Standing Sheet
Question asked by Andrea Roberts - August 25 at 6:25 PM
Unanswered
I started a league in BLS2017 (version 29.07.05) and completed Week 2.  I downloaded the BLS2018 (version 30.02.03) and when I pull up the standing sheet for Week 2, it has the heading for Last Week's Top Scores, but no teams or bowlers are listed.  The Season High Scores is also included on the standing sheet, and there are teams and bowlers listed there, but not in the Last Week's Top Scores.

I checked my rules; went back to Week 1 and forward to Week 2 hoping to recalculate; and I also clicked on Enter / Correct Scores and back out hoping to recalculate, but still nothing.

Anyone else have this problem?

I was able to work with a "dummy" league that I had leftover from last season. I happen to be using the same version numbers for both BLS-2017 and BLS-2018 (thank you VERY MUCH for including those version numbers!). Because I had only used it last season to test things to help other users, I had to restart it for the new season using BLS-2017. To try to match the status for your league, I entered random scores for the first two weeks of bowling.

Because I already had BLS-2018 installed, though, it didn't copy the restarted league to the BLS-2018 Leagues folder for me like it does when it does its initial installation. Thus instead, I did the item "Copy Recent or Old Leagues to BLS-2018" to manually update it to work with the new software. Perhaps you could do this manually, following the steps I used below:

With no league open, under the "File" menu: "Copy Recent or Old Leagues to BLS-2018".
At bottom, select button next to "This Specific Directory:" then click "Select Folder" button to right.
Navigate to C:\Users\Public\Documents\BLS2017\Leagues
Click on "All Leagues" button in lower left (this will update the league list).
Locate league and double-click on it.
Click "Yes" on all dialogs. When prompted to change the description for the league, make one minor change but leave everything else as-is.

When completed:
Under the "File" menu: "Open League for Current Season".
At bottom, select button next to "Default folder for leagues".
In list that appears, locate copied league and double-click on it.
Click "Yes" on all dialogs.

Doing this, I found that I was fully able to have the weekly high scores appear on the standings sheet as expected.

You posted version numbers (again, thank you) and described what you expected to see and attempted to accomplish. I have a feeling you may be able to get through these steps and quite possibly get yourself working okay.

I'm having the same problem. I have BLS-2018 auto-scoring ver. 30.02.04 and I am on the first week of a league that I brought over from BLS-2017 auto-scoring ver. 29.07.03 and started for a new season. Same issue, on the standing sheet the heading is there for Last Weeks Scores but no scores appear.

I am also having the same problem. I have 2 leagues (so far) that I cannot get last week's scores to print on either a standing sheet or a press sheet. The leagues were last used BLS-2017 A/S 29.07.05 and were updated to BLS-2018 A/S 30.02.04.

Update:
I tried the above suggestion, which did not work. I first restored the league to BLS-2017 using a weekly backup file from a prior week. Then I used BLS-2018 to copy the Old League to BLS-2018. When I opened the league in BLS-2018, it upgraded but I did get a couple of messages. They were "Standing setup #1 had not been initialized. Current setup will be used" and "Standing setup #3 had not been initialized. Current setup will be used". Neither the standing sheet or the press release were as they originally were in the 2017 version of the league, and no amount of changing the reports could get the weekly scores to show up under the heading.

Solution that worked for me:
Setup>Rules>Special Recognition>The league gives special bowler recognition for the following: I toggled everything to Yes, even though it's a scratch league.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It should be fixed in the next update and not require anyone to change any settings.
