I cannot attach a standing sheet and send the email to my bowlers since the latest update.
Problem reported by Deb Fickett - December 12, 2015 at 8:07 AM
Not A Problem
Normally I don't update my program until after I enter my scores and send an email with the standing sheet to my bowlers, but today I realized why that is the correct order in which to proceed.  I updated the program before sending the email and now am not able to send the email with the standing sheet as an attachment.  I send the test email and that is received.  I send a regular email through the program and it is received.  However, as soon as I attach the standing sheet it does not go through.  My program version is 28.05.10 released yesterday, 11 December 2015.  I have other issues with this program, but this is major as my bowlers are expecting an email with the standing sheet today like they do every Saturday morning.  Will someone please help me?  Thanks.

Now I find that if I send the email to one person at a time it will actually send, but trying to send to everyone in the league does not work.  Apparently, that only worked for two of the four bowlers with whom I tried this.

Do you have the non-officially supported Windows XP?

Deb,

It's possible it may be an issue with your Internet Service Provider (or Email Provider) not allowing large numbers of emails being sent.

I did a test sending standing sheets to 11 different people with 11 different email addresses and no error was received and all email addresses received the email and attachments correctly.

Maybe I missed something but why wouldn't you use leaguesecretary.com?
It is free and you can use the upload version and make it have a lot more info than you want to print on a normal league sheet.  As many pages as you like.

I echo Dennis' comment. I have a 3rd page of stats for the league on my web sheet, and only the basics on the printed version so I don't waste paper. If there was more that wasn't duplicated in non-PDF sheets throughout the expertly designed LeagueSecretary.com, I'd put that on the standings sheets too.

Deb,

I'm unable to replicate that standings are not going out in the email attachment for the Pro or A/S version.  As mentioned earlier, I did a test league with 11 different people and email addresses and they all went out.  I used an outlook email address for a person and a gmail address for a person.  All received the test version.  So the only thing I can think of is that there is a limitation with your Email Service Provider.  They may be considering sending out bulk emails with attachments as a virus or spam.

My last reasoning is to add to what Frank, Dennis and Brendan explain the reasoning for using the LeagueSecretary.com service.  There is additional benefits, such as your bowlers being able to compete nationally in Action Bowling tournaments by Rolltech, using the scores bowled in league.  It also allows bowlers to opt out of receiving announcements about league standings, without you needing to be involved.  Bowlers can also look at their bowler histories online as well.

As Frank mentioned, having an offsite backup is a big bonus.  We've lost track of the number of times we've had to assist a league secretary or bowling center that had a computer disaster and lost all their data.  While many of our customers understand the value and reasoning behind making league backups and do it each week to a USB drive, we still have a number of customers who still don't understand that Murphy is a bowler and that he knows exactly the wrong time to mess up your computer.  Computers CAN have problems.  I've had a couple customers actually re-format their hard drive, by accident, not thinking about the fact that they weren't making league backups and now their data is gone.  So by uploading to LeagueSecretary.com each week, it's an "out of sight, out of mind" thing where league backups are going to the cloud doing something you would be doing each week.

Another thing Frank mentioned has been very beneficial.  Recruitment.  We've had conversations with many secretaries and centers mentioning that they received several new customers who moved to the area and used LeagueSecretary.com to find leagues and centers in their area.  I don't know about you, but gaining bowlers "is a good thing" as Martha puts it.
